Job Description

Girlguiding UK (GGUK) requires a Policy and Public Affairs Officer to support the development of its growing PR and public affairs function. Your brief is to build a range of work to influence, engage and inspire a range of diverse stakeholders. The position reports to the PR and Public Affairs Manager and is vital to the charity’s aim to grow guiding and give girls a voice on the issues that they say affect them.

This is a new role which will support the organisation to identify and analyse relevant trends in public and political policy; communicate the impact of these developments and opportunities to GGUK staff and members; formulate and communicate GGUK’s views to external stakeholders; identify and develop relationships with politicians, decision makers, opinion formers and volunteers; develop and manage advocacy projects; and work closely with colleagues to exploit the synergy between the charity’s influencing and media work.

You will also contribute to the development of team strategy.
