Job Description
Working in the Carbon and Sustainability Team, the Sustainability Engagement Manager will support the RFA’s world leading work on biofuel sustainability. Developing a deep technical understanding of the field, you will lead the authoring of the RFA’s key documents and work with the team to maximise the effectiveness of the RFA’s work and the communication of its messages.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Writing on biofuel carbon and sustainability – the Sustainability Engagement Manager must write accurate, accessible and engaging content for the RFA’s website, Digest and reports. The successful applicant will develop a detailed understanding of the RFA’s work, in particular biofuel carbon and sustainability (C&S) reporting, and use this to quickly and concisely write high quality copy accessible to a non-specialist audience.
- Carbon and sustainability support – developing and using detailed understanding of biofuel carbon and sustainability to support and advise the Carbon and Sustainability Team and engage with the ongoing development of the RFA’s C&S reporting.
- Conferences – identifying and arranging conference opportunities; speaking at conferences and workshops; and supporting the CEO and other staff.
- Media – answering media queries, arranging and giving interviews, writing articles, drafting press releases. Acting as lead press officer and coordinating with other Government and stakeholder communications teams.
- Communications strategy – development and implementation.
- Proofing and quality assurance – to work with the RFA team to ensure that all RFA output meets the high standards expected.
- Supporting the management of the RFA’s stakeholder engagement programme and website. Providing advice and information by phone, email and in person to the RFA’s stakeholders.
- Corporate documentation – to support the authoring and publication of key corporate documents.
