Job Description
6 month contract (May - October 2010)
2010 will be the year that the political stage enjoys more attention than any other. The forthcoming General Election will see a record number of MPs standing down and hotly contested seats nationwide. Newly-elected MPs will be looking to the autumn party conferences as opportunities for guidance on their policies and thinking.
With thousands of attendees, the conferences can be a cacophony of voices vying for attention, out of which The Health Hotel clearly emerges as a one-stop-shop for health and social care debate. Placing itself at the heart of the conferences, The Health Hotel organises 45 events and an exhibition within the main conference venues.
The Health Hotel is looking for a proactive and motivated self-starter to assist the Director from now until the end of the Autumn Party Conference season. This is an unmissable opportunity to engage with the new parliament and hundreds of health stakeholders.
The ideal candidate would be extremely organised with excellent IT skills and have an interest in public affairs. The role involves event management logistics, administrative duties, liaison with The Health Hotel’s members, supporters, stakeholders and politicians and will include spending three weeks on site at the three main annual political party conferences. It is ideal for someone looking to get into either public affairs or event management.
The role will be for three days a week (plus extra days during conference season) starting from the first week of May until the end of October and paying £20,000 pro rata. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK or hold a valid work permit.
