Job Description
Are you an experienced speechwriter able to demonstrate a sound understanding of financial markets, banking and wider economic issues? Alternatively, are you an experienced financial journalist with a track record of writing for different media and audiences, including speechwriting? Experience of writing annual reports and financial presentations would be an advantage. You will also need to be credible dealing with senior stakeholders (FTSE100 directors, ministers etc).
As speechwriter to the Chairman, Chief Executive and other senior executives you will research and write compelling speeches on a range of subjects including the future of banking, trust in financial services and climate change. From creating the outline structure of a speech to developing a coherent argument and clear message you will write a range of speeches from informal opening remarks to high profile key note addresses.
Working for a well-respected bank this is a rare opportunity to gain exposure to its most senior executives and work within a talented communications team. You can expect a salary between £60,000 and £75,000 plus bonus and benefits.
