Devolution presents a unique opportunity to address some of key problems faced by British city regions. How to stem the flow of talent, skills and graduates towards London from the rest of the country? How to promote the economic independence and sustainability of our cities? These are the questions that devolution must answer.

Join DevoConnect and City REDI for an evening of discussion and debate with speakers presenting their understanding of the impact that devolution will have on city regions.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Andy Street, Conservative candidate for West Midlands Mayor
  • Beverley Nielsen, former CBI Director and Lib Dem candidate for West Midlands Mayor
  • James Burn, Green candidate for West Midlands Mayor
  • Professor Simon Collinson, deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Regional Economic Development and Director of City-REDI at the University of Birmingham
  • Andrew Carter, Deputy Chief Executive of the Centre for Cities
  • Maria Machancoses, Programme Director of Midlands Connect
  • Other invited speakers include Siôn Simon MEP, Labour candidate for West Midlands Mayor.

The event is held in partnership with City REDI.

The event will be followed by a drinks reception.
