Westminster Forum will hold a breakfast meeting with the Rt Hon Lord Deben, Chairman Committee on Climate Change. The event will be hosted by Association of British Insurers.

The Rt. Hon Lord Deben

The Rt. Hon John Gummer, Lord Deben was the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food between 1989 and 1993 and was the longest serving Secretary of State for the Environment the UK has ever had. His sixteen years of top-level ministerial experience also include Minster for London, Employment Minister and Paymaster General in HM Treasury. He has consistently championed an identity between environmental concerns and business sense. To that end, he set up and now runs Sancroft, a Corporate Responsibility consultancy working with blue-chip companies around the world on environmental, social and ethical issues.  Lord Deben is Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change, Valpak Limited, and the Association of Professional Financial Advisors.

About Westminster Forum

Founded in 1976, we are an independent, non-partisan and not-for-profit organisation to promote dialogue between the worlds of business and politics. We are not lobbyists. Our funding comes entirely from corporate subscriptions and sponsorship. Westminster Forum has established a reputation for the quality, prominence and accessibility of our speakers, drawn mainly from the world of politics, administration and business.

The forums are usually held over breakfast or lunch at a City or central London location and are hosted by one of our corporate members. We also hold occasional small dinners with a guest speaker. We follow the Chatham House rule.

How to attend

Membership of the Westminster Forum is available to a wide range of organisations. Membership allows your organisation to apply for a number of places for your team at events, though events are popular and spaces are provided on a first come first served basis.
