Eradicating fuel poverty
The social, economic and environmental impact of a national energy efficiency infrastructure programme
This stakeholder forum will seek to raise the tenor and profile of the debate around the government’s Fuel Poverty Strategy. In particular it will focus on the pros and cons of including a national energy efficiency programme in the next government’s National Infrastructure Plan, and will address the following key issues:
- What are the positive impacts in terms of health and wellbeing?
- What are the economic benefits to energy services, construction, engineering and hi-tech industries?
- What efficiencies can be realised in terms of data security and achieving better communications and engagement with consumers?
The Forum will coincide with the launch of a ground breaking report by Cambridge Econometrics and Verco setting out the economic benefits of an ambitious energy efficiency programme.
Our event will provide a unique debate and comes at an early point in terms of policy thinking in advance of the general election campaign. It will provide an opportunity for stakeholders and influencers to debate how to eradicate fuel poverty and all those who attend will have the opportunity to join in the discussion and give their views.
