The DUP are currently a critical component within the Brexit process and with 10 parliamentary seats and parliamentary arithmetic as it is, how the DUP vote in Parliament will have a great impact across the UK – in terms of what happens next in the Brexit process, and potentially on the future of the Prime Minister and the Government as a whole.

24 hours before the Meaningful Vote is set to take place in Parliament, PLMR will be hosting a breakfast briefing event with the DUP’s Brexit Spokesperson, Sammy Wilson MP. This event will take place in Westminster (location tbc) at 8.30am on Monday 10th December 2018, 24 hours before one of the most important votes of the parliamentary calendar.

Mr Wilson is one of the key players within the Brexit process and has been heavily involved in the discussions with No.10 over whether the DUP should support the Government’s deal. He is therefore an expert source of knowledge on matters related Brexit, including the potential impacts on businesses if the Northern Ireland backstop agreement was to be implemented. He will also be able to shed some valuable insight on the parliamentary arithmetic on the day before the vote, and give the audience a sense of whether the Government’s deal has a chance of being passed by Parliament and what the various other outcomes of the Meaningful Vote could be.

Mr Wilson is also a member of the Select Committee for Exiting the European Union who have been scrutinising the Government’s approach to Brexit in recent months. He has kindly agreed to take some questions from the audience after his opening remarks.
