Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Join the Network

Freshwater is a leading integrated communications consultancy specialising in public relations, stakeholder communications, government relations and media communications. We work across a number of sectors, including; transport, healthcare, charity, professional services, infrastructure and planning.

We are looking for a person with a passion for integrated communications to join our team. The successful candidate will have an interest in politics and good knowledge of the machinery of government and the media, as well as excellent copywriting skills and an understanding of all elements of the marketing mix.

The job will include projects that the successful candidate will take ownership of. Daily tasks will include, but are not restricted to:

  • Researching policy areas;
  • Producing briefing documents;
  • Drafting correspondence;
  • Interviewing case studies;
  • Drafting media materials;
  • Monitoring the media, industry and parliament for client issues;
  • Drafting content for web;
  • Assisting at policy conferences.

The candidate will ideally be a recent graduate with some related experience in media communications or a UK political/public affairs role.
