The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation in the United Kingdom solely for GPs. Founded in 1952, RCGP has around 50,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest and most trusted branch of the medical profession.

We are currently recruiting a Committees and Policy Officer in our Edinburgh Office, to take forward work relating to the governance of RCGP Scottish Council.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the health agenda within Scotland and should be educated to degree level (or have equivalent experience). Your experience of senior level administration and support work on committees will drive the research and policy development and influencing work you do in response to public policy requirements - and in line with the College’s Strategic Plan. You will, of course, have strong writing skills as there is a requirement to draft and summarise complex documents.

You will also have a proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels, prioritise a busy workload and work effectively within a small team.

In return, the College offers excellent benefits, terms and conditions.
