Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Interested in local democracy? And politics? Want to be part of a movement that gives people a voice and improves communities?

With the general election and local elections just round the corner, we're looking for a talented, dynamic and passionate individual to join us as a Policy Intern and help our campaigning work and support other key national projects.

As an intern you will get to work with a variety of our staff, at national and local level, while working on real projects that will not only help the sector develop but also enhance your skills, capabilities and career.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is:

  • Educated to at least University Degree level or can demonstrate ability at that level;
  • Has knowledge and understanding of local government and UK political and parliamentary system;
  • Has first rate organisational skills, with ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure;
  • Has the ability to communicate at all levels with excellent oral and written skills;
  • Has good research capability. with the ability to interpret and process large amounts of information;
  • Has the ability to work individually or as a member of a team;
  • Has a high standard of computer/digital literacy;
  • Has the ability to build good working relationships.
