The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

Interel UK is now looking for a Public Affairs assistant to support our consultancy team in their client and non-client tasks.

Consulting:

  • Organise client, network and political events;
  • Support provision of political monitoring and intelligence;
  • Contribute to the development of new business initiatives;
  • Support Head of Research and Intelligence;
  • Help deliver detailed work plans for clients;
  • Implement stakeholder engagement programmes;
  • Prepare power points;
  • Undertake political research;
  • Lead on party conference activity, including booking accommodation, organising diaries, assisting with conference events etc;
  • Contribute to political blog, twitter feed and website content;
  • Develop good relations with parliamentary and departmental contacts;
  • Maintain Databases.

Administrative:

  • Recording office expenditure and directors’ credit cards;
  • Preparing meeting rooms;
  • Maintaining supplies of stationery and equipment;
  • Maintaining the condition of the office and arranging for necessary repairs;
  • Sending client invoices;
  • Writing reports and presentation for senior management;
  • Arranging regular testing for electrical equipment and safety devices.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about politics;
  • Have attention to detail;
  • Have basic commercial awareness and understanding the financial imperative of consultancy work;
  • Show demonstrable and understanding of political, policy and legislative processes;
  • Have good processes, organisation and time management skills;
  • Have excellent MS Office skills and be proactive with good initiative;
  • Have good communication skills and a positive “can do” attitude;
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
