A professional membership body in the financial sector is seeking a public affairs executive. The successful applicant will support their Public Affairs team, advancing their aims and supporting their voice on matters of importance in Whitehall, Westminster and Brussels. Whilst experience and a familiarity of fiscal policy would be beneficial, it is not a prerequisite, experience in the political and policy arena is however.

Purpose of Job   

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting their parliamentary engagement, political monitoring, overseeing events, arranging meetings and briefing internal and external stakeholders;
  • Assisting with their domestic and international public affairs strategy;
  • Taking responsibility for specific policy areas with the independence to develop their own campaigns and initiatives.

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A strong academic background to degree level or equivalent;
  • Good knowledge and experience of UK public policy;
  • Strong relationship building and excellent communication skills;
  • Strong written communication skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to grasp complex issues and communicate them clearly and persuasively.
