Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

At easyJet, we’re now looking to recruit a Public Affairs Intern to work across a broad range of issues touching on UK and European Public Affairs. Sourcing and preparing draft political and wider briefs for Public Affairs and other senior easyJet representatives across the UK and Europe, you will also provide detailed research and regular communication of local political events, establishing the foundation for the strategic and tactical advice the easyJet public affairs team offers internally and externally. Helping to monitor and track political government processes and decision making and coordinating our network of European Public Affairs agencies, this role will be crucial in helping us effectively plan and oversee our relationship with a wide range of stakeholders who hold an interest in easyJet’s affairs, such as politicians, civil servants, trade associations, think tanks, business groups and the media.

Candidate Requirements:

  • University graduate (2:1 minimum) in Communications, Journalism, Politics, Economics or International Relations, you will ideally have previous experience of PR/public affairs research or a post graduate qualification in relevant subject area;
  • Demonstrable experience of campaigning will be at an advantage, whether gained in a political party or NGO environment;
  • You must have one or more additional European language, along with the communication skills and ability to present findings for publication clearly and accurately to a range of audiences;
  • Good commercial acumen, logical, quick and flexible in the appraisal of problems, you will also demonstrate excellent database, spread sheet and word processing skills;
  • Able to manage projects independently, with limited management direction, you will be highly organised able to conduct comprehensive analysis of information to tight deadlines ensuring accuracy and relevance.
