This 6 month paid internship will offer an outstanding candidate the opportunity to develop their research skills while learning about all sides of the advertising industry.
Credos is UK advertising’s think-tank, funded by a broad range of advertisers, media owners and agencies. It is based in Westminster at the Advertising Association, which promotes the role, rights and responsibilities of advertising and its impact on individuals, the economy and society.
Our remit is to understand and communicate advertising's role in society through robust and rigorous research and analysis. Issues of societal concern involving advertising are high on Credos' agenda, in support of the self-regulatory system and responsible consumer protection. We are committed to an honest appraisal of advertising, identifying its shortcomings as well as its positive features, so that the industry can address them.
You will contribute to the Advertising Association’s research programme and help build evidence on the role of advertising, how it works, how it is perceived and its value to UK society, culture and the economy.
As part of a small team, you will work across all areas of Credos research to help deliver new research and understanding.
Responsibilities will include:
- Helping carry out quantitative and qualitative research, by drafting discussion guides and questionnaires;
- Collating and analysing data, and writing reports to a high standard;
- Undertaking desk research and briefing for AA staff and members;
- Helping organise Credos events, and representing Credos at some external events;
- Attending and minuting meetings when required;
- Assisting with general administrative tasks.
The successful candidate must:
- Have a degree (minimum 2:ii) or post-graduate qualification;
- Have an interest in working in the advertising and marketing communications industry;
- Have utstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a desire to learn from, and work with, a small, friendly team;
- Have a track record of producing excellent research and written materials;
- Be computer and web literate;
- Have excellent organisational skills;
- Have a thoughtful, creative and resourceful character, with an ability to take initiative and work without close supervision.
