Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has announced nineteen new Fellows in recognition of their outstanding public relations work, service to the Institute and personal achievements within the industry. The Institute was founded in 1948 and is the professional body for public relations practitioners in the UK, with over 10,000 members.

The CIPR awards Fellowships to members twice a year. The last announcement in May 2014 included high-profile Public Affairs figures Alastair Ross and Simon McVicker.

Fellows play an important role in promoting professionalism in the field of public relations, and make a significant contribution to the Institute’s working groups, panels and consultations. For more details about CIPR Fellowship and the nomination process, visit the CIPR website.

The list, which can be found in full below, includes four leading names in the public affairs industry:

  • Iain Anderson FCIPR - Public relations practitioner and leader in public affairs, and former Council member and chair of the Public Affairs group.
  • Daniel Large FCIPR - A public relations thinker and doer, and active CIPR leader in public affairs, member engagement, and Council member.
  • Keith Johnston FCIPR - Public relations practitioner and leader in public affairs, and former Council member and chair of the Public Affairs group.
  • Stuart Bruce FCIPR - International trainer, founding member of the CIPR Social Media Panel, public speaker and longstanding supporter of the CIPR in Yorkshire.

Stephen Waddington MCIPR, CIPR President and ‎European Digital and Social Media Director at Ketchum PR, commented: “The new Fellows nomination process has brought forward an excellence series of candidates that have each made an exceptional contribution to the public relations profession.

The other fifteen new Fellows are:

  • Alex Skinner FCIPR - A dedicated regional public relations practitioner and longstanding supporter of the CIPR in the Wessex, in various roles.
  • Annette Spencer FCIPR - Committed practitioner and voice for the professional in professional services, and leader through Council and chair of the CIPR Corporate and Financial group.
  • Christopher Love FCIPR - A strong regional voice for the CIPR, promoting professionalism in public relations in Northern Ireland as a practitioner and via the regional group.
  • David Hamilton FCIPR - Mentor, inspirational leader and outstanding practitioner, winner of 2014 IOD/CIPR PR Director of the Year award.
  • Gemma Griffiths FCIPR - Dedicated to professionalism and skills as a highly ambitious agency founder, a moderniser and co-chair of the Social Media panel
  • Gerald Bowey FCIPR - A voice and leader for the CIPR in the construction industry promoting professionalism in PR and long standing supporter of CAPSIG.
  • Kevin Briscoe FCIPR - A voice and leader for the CIPR, promoting professionalism in public relations in Wessex as a practitioner and former chair of the regional group.
  • Laura Sutherland FCIPR - An energetic agency founder and committed CIPR leader through the Board, Council, and Scotland group.
  • Lesley Clark FCIPR - An advocate for professionalism in public relations via continuous learning, and various leadership roles in Scotland.
  • Lisa Shaddick FCIPR - A progressive agency founder with a longstanding commitment to the CIPR In a variety of leadership roles including the London group and Council.
  • Magnus Carter FCIPR - Mentor to fellow professionals, sought after senior advisor and longstanding supporter of the CIPR in the South West of England.
  • Matt McKay FCIPR - A Chartered PR Practitioner committed to professionalism in public relations as a leader in various roles including the Marcom group and Council.
  • Rachel Miller FCIPR - A public relations writer, public speaker, practitioner and mentor, and active leader of the CIPR Inside and Social Media Panel.
  • Simon Thompson FCIPR - A senior public relations practitioner and voice for the professional in the accountancy sector, and committed CIPR leader as chair of the Corporate & Financial group.
  • Vicki Davies FCIPR - An internal communications specialist and committed CIPR leader through various roles for the Inside and Midlands groups.
