Newington Communications has hired Christine Quigley and Will McMyn to head up its Transport and Infrastructure and Energy and Environment teams.

Fast-growing public affairs and communications agency Newington continues to go for growth with the recruitment of two new Associate Directors. Quigley joined on Monday 5th March from GK Strategy to lead Newington’s Transport and Infrastructure practice, and McMyn, who made the move in January from Good Energy, takes up the reins at its Energy and Environment practice.

Quigley began her public affairs career at Age UK before focusing on transport as a political advisor to Shadow Transport Secretary Mary Creagh MP. Later, she held senior roles at the Rail Delivery Group and Keolis UK. Her clients will include the Licensed Taxi Drivers’ Association (LTDA), DPD and Octopus Transport.

McMyn started his public affairs career in the banking sector. Most recently, he was Head of External Affairs and Communications at Good Energy, a wind and solar farm developer and renewable energy supplier. He takes on a range of energy clients including Octopus Energy and Peel Group.

Commenting on the new hires, Naomi Harris, Managing Director of Newington’s Public Affairs division, said: “The last year has been a fantastic one for Newington with our talented team winning on several campaign fronts for our clients, while at the same time continuing to build our client base.  I am delighted that Christine and Will, who bring with them a wealth of experience and insight, have joined us as we prepare for our next stage of growth, and I’m excited about what the next year holds for the Newington team.”

Quigley said: “I’m delighted to be joining Newington at the helm of its dedicated Transport and Infrastructure practice. It’s an exciting time for the company as it consolidates and deepens its sectoral expertise.”

McMyn said: “Newington is known for its expertise in the energy sector and our clients span the industry from renewable generators through to industry partnerships. I’m looking forward to working with the team on our existing accounts whilst expanding our client base further.”
