Ahead of the General Election taking place on Thursday 7 May 2015, Public Affairs Cymru (PAC) has published a briefing making members aware of the implications of ‘purdah’, or the pre-election period.

The dissolution of Parliament takes place on Monday 30 March, with the pre-election purdah beginning on the same day until a new Government is formed after the election. “During this period your day to day work is likely to be unaffected but there may be some specific restrictions on the activities that you undertake.”

The PAC briefing offers Members advice on:

  • What is ‘purdah’ of the pre-election period and when does it start?
  • What impact will it have on the Welsh Government?
  • What impact will it have on Members?

The briefing can be downloaded in full from the PAC website.

Public Affairs Cymru (PAC) is a membership organisation for public affairs professionals in Wales. Established in October 2006, PAC aims to raise awareness of the public affairs industry and to promote good practice.
