Our client is an independent charity seeking to ensure that the UK benefits from a healthcare system of the highest possible quality. They believe that in order to achieve a safe, effective, person-centred system that health services need to continually improve the way they work. 

The role of Public Affairs Officer is an integral part of the team and you will work closely with the Senior Public Affairs Manager. Supporting the stakeholder engagement programme, you will provide the Chief Executive and other senior executives with timely and effective briefings and research. You will be responsible, alongside your colleagues, for supporting the development and implementation of influencing and campaign strategies. You will manage the political monitoring service, adding, where appropriate, additions analysis. You will be expected to develop and maintain a network of peer contacts in stakeholder organisations and with appropriate external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of the UK’s political system and policy making process. You will be able to demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to assess complex policy and present it in a digestible format. You will have strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain strong external relationships. A background in public affairs is essential and whilst some experience of the health sector would be desirable it is not essential.
