Job Details
41 Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) will be elected across England and Wales for the first time on November 15th 2012 - could you play a key part in the biggest shake up of policing in almost 200 years?
Following the Home Office’s decision to commission the Association of Police Authorities (APA) to provide the interim representative body for elected PCCs (APCC) between November 2012 and March 2013 as part of the transition to a new regime of policing governance, we are pleased to invite applications for a new Communications Officer post at the APA on a fixed term contract to the end of March 2013. It is hoped that this contract might be extended beyond March 2013 but this is of course entirely at the discretion of elected PCCs.
This role will play a key role in establishing the new representative national body for PCCs and represents a great opportunity to be at the heart of this transformation of policing oversight at a time of critical challenges for the service.
We are keen to begin work with the successful candidate as soon as possible. Applications for secondments are welcome.
Please note: only individuals with security clearance to CTC (Counter Terrorism Check) level can be considered.
More information is available at www.apa.police.uk.

Having considered the job description, interested candidates should send their CV and a letter highlighting their suitability for the role INCLUDING confirmation that they have security clearance to CTC level, to dawn.osborne@apa.police.uk by midnight Tuesday 15th May. Interviews likely to be held on 18th and 21st May (tbc).
