A leading trade body are looking for a Policy Officer to join their successful policy and public affairs team. They have a strong heritage of promoting the reputation and interests of its members in the wider society.

The role will report to head of public affairs, and the main thrust will be to develop and communicate policy around sustainability. Developing policy, providing research on topical issues and managing policy related projects form the basis of the role.

The right candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to put a message across about complex policy issues
• Experience of research and/or policy development within a representative body or similar environment
• An ability to think strategically about complex issues
• Be able to deliver successful projects, managing them through to completion
• Desirable: knowledge of sustainability.
