The European Dairy Association (EDA) is the voice of the milk processing industry in the European Union. Our members are the national trade associations for dairy processors in EU Member States.

We are looking for a (Junior) “Nutrition, Health & Food law” Officer to join our “Food, Environment & Health” department in September 2015.

We offer a long-term perspective in a cross-functional and international team with a flat hierarchy and an opportunity to engage with a dynamic industry.

Profile:

  • Understanding of the EU policy making process and experience in EU food law;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English, proficiency in French and other European languages would be an advantage;
  • Flexible and dynamic team player;
  • Capacity to prioritise and proactivity in pursuing the sectors’ topics;
  • Able to work on their own initiative and take responsibility;
  • Experience in the EU environment is necessary;
  • A background or knowledge in nutrition / health science or similar is an asset.

Main responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyse and evaluate the impact of legislative developments at the EU level in the areas of nutrition and food law, incl. consumer information policies;
  • Gather and interpret a broad variety of information and actively work on further shaping the legal framework for the future;
  • Inform our EDA members, support and steer the activities of our related working groups;
  • Write EDA position papers, reports and other publications;
  • Maintain contacts with representatives of various EU authorities and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Additional support of the department or office (related topics, administrative and internal processes).
