Our client is seeking an EU Public Affairs professional to become the leader of its Energy practice in Brussels. An established high achieving communications consultancy in both London & Brussels are seeking someone who can help achieve their exciting growth plans.

Preferably with consultancy experience and with a knowledge of the energy/sustainability policy landscape across the EU, you will have an excellent opportunity to build a very rewarding and significant part of the Brussels operation.

You will provide strategic advice to their existing client base and develop close relationships with those clients. You will have full direction for the energy practice and ensure managed account teams deliver effectively and to a high standard.

We are looking for an experienced professional with the following skills:

  • Thorough understanding of EU energy & environment policy;
  • Knowledge of the interaction between EU, international and national policy and the business impact that this can have on clients;
  • Effective time-management and ability to meet deadlines, strong organisational and project management skills;
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive and business acumen;
  • Proven ability to deliver new business development;
  • Expert networker with strong contacts in the EU energy & environment policy community Expert programme development and management;
  • Advanced creative writing skills;
  • Advanced presentation skills;
  • Recognised competence in providing strategic advice and a willingness to work on unfamiliar and challenging topics;
  • Recognised ability to bring creative flair and ideas to new business proposals;
  • Ability to operate effectively and collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Excellent verbal communication;
  • Excellent financial and budgeting skills.

The ideal candidate will be degree-level educated and have experience working in either a public affairs consultancy, in-house at a relevant company or in a European trade association.
