Cratus Communications is one of the leading, local government focused agencies. We are a rapidly growing agency, based in London but working nationally. We are looking for an account manager to work in the Cratus Strategic team in our London office. Strategic works with a wide range of businesses engaging with local councils, large and small, up and down the country.

You must be able to use your initiative and be prepared to help develop our organisation with us. You do not need to have a politics degree but a passion for politics is essential and you may hold or aspire to being a councillor in your own community.

As an account manager you will:

  • Project manage day to day client activity, acting as the main contact for relevant accounts. This will involve attending both client offices and council offices for meetings and presentations with clients, sponsors, council officers and politicians;
  • Work on developing the business by establishing positive working relationships with existing clients and networking to build our client base through attending dinners, lunches, conferences and workshops on an extensive range of topics;
  • Generate high quality political reports/briefings for clients using both desk based research skills and conversations with stakeholders, such as local councillors;
  • Be required to travel throughout UK;
  • Work the occasional evening and weekend.

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in and knowledge of local government politics;
  • Outstanding communication and people skills;
  • Clear and persuasive writing and oral presentation skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to appreciate and work to tight deadlines;
  • Ability to multi-task and change priorities depending on changing client requirements;
  • Experience of working in a commercial/customer facing business.
