The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

Job purpose

As a mid-level member of the consultancy team, the purpose of this job is to provide overall management of client accounts, ensuring the smooth running and delivering of agreed strategy. This should include both downward and upward management, to ensure client retention and growth.

Key accountabilities

Clients

  • The day-to-day contact for clients, ensuring responses to emails and phone calls are made in a timely manner;
  • Delegates and manages upwards appropriately on client accounts;
  • Ensures quality of client work from junior staff, and sends to Account Directors and Directors in a client-ready format for final sign – off;
  • Informs Account Directors of progress on delivery of strategy and ensure that this is being kept to timescales as agreed with the client;
  • Has an understanding of Toggl, considers this on a weekly basis, and flags issues as appropriate to Account Directors and Directors;
  • Has ultimate responsibility for ensuring that internal client meetings are organised and occur as scheduled;
  • Has ultimate responsibility for ensuring that external client meetings are organised and diarised with all relevant client team members;
  • Upholds quality of client work, working with Account Executives;
  • Oversight of Account Executives to deliver monitoring services to clients, with ultimate responsibility for flagging news of interest or importance to clients;
  • Has relevant policy knowledge for assigned clients;
  • Understands how to write a communications plan, including communications tactics to deliver an agreed objective;
  • Provide insight and advice to clients in all communications.

New business

  • Support with research on new business meetings, proposals and pitches;
  • Organise mailouts and follow up from events attended;
  • Attend 1 meeting, 2 events and write 1 blog on a monthly basis.
