WA is looking for a new Account Manager/Senior Account Manager to support its continuing success and to deliver great work as part of its specialist health practice, WA Health.

Our public affairs and strategic communications consultancy has grown more than 20% year-on-year over the last three years. In that time our company has doubled to 25 consultants, winning new clients in a range of sectors.

WA Health has expanded rapidly over the past 12 months and we are on course to build on this success in 2017 and beyond. Our clients (and our team’s experience) span healthcare, pharma, medical devices and social care – and we provide a range of services for them, including: media relations; public affairs; crisis communications; stakeholder relations and market access.

We are looking for an account manager or senior account manager to join WA Health who is bright, enthusiastic and who can’t wait to join a friendly and dynamic team. You will be someone with knowledge of the pharmaceutical and/or medical devices industry (in-house or agency). Consultancy experience is a bonus, but all we require is an aptitude to service client accounts to a high standard.

The right candidate will ideally have several years’ experience working in public affairs or communications, either in consultancy, in-house or within a trade association or charity. A desire to work in a specialist healthcare consultancy is a must.

Qualities we value are:

  • A client-centric attitude that prizes accessibility, responsiveness and quality;
  • Exceptional administration, organisation and project management skills with an eye for detail;
  • An ability to analyse, summarise and communicate complex policy and corporate issues;
  • A thorough grasp of UK politics and policymaking, as well as an interest in healthcare policy and media;
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and/or medical devices industry;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • An ability to write clearly and concisely;
  • Intellectual curiosity and dynamism.

The role will see you playing a pivotal part in WA Health and the wider company, and supporting our business development opportunities and getting stuck into new business pitches and opportunities from the start.

You will:

  • Coordinate day-to-day activity on client accounts;
  • Oversee production of briefings, newsletters, presentations, regular reports and thought leadership initiatives;
  • Provide proactive insight and client updates on relevant policy issues;
  • Lead organisation of events and WA Health marketing programmes;
  • Implement public affairs and communications activity for WA Health clients;
  • Conduct detailed policy research and analysis;
  • Build a network of contacts across the healthcare and pharma industry;
  • Assist WA Health’s new business efforts;
  • Work with everyone in the business, from our intern to our Managing Director to continue WA’s success.

In return for your hard work and commitment we offer:

  • A competitive package with strong prospects for future growth and involvement in our company bonus scheme;
  • A tailored training programme that will help your continuous professional development and progress your career;
  • A lively, open and honest working culture, in which all of our people are valued, listened to, and encouraged to generate ideas and opportunities;
  • A wide range of employee benefits, including a competitive pension scheme, subsidised gym membership, childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, interest free travel loans and more.
