We are looking for a Consultant with an understanding of and interest in UK policy. This full-time role is an important position in the team and will support a number of prestigious clients in our Advocacy team.
Role overview
You will be responsible for:
- Drafting briefing notes for (and about) all relevant UK political representatives;
- Building demonstrably effective working relationships with MPs and Peers offices;
- Developing and delivering long-term client contact programmes with elected representatives, stakeholder groups and other relevant target audiences;
- Project managing events including Parliamentary, stakeholder and new business events;
- Providing public affairs monitoring reports;
- Drafting early day motions and parliamentary questions;
- Attending client meetings and drafting ‘right first time’ action notes;
- Conduct stakeholder mapping interviews;
- Contributing creatively towards new business pitches, attending brainstorms.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
We are looking for an outstanding individual with the following:
- Excellent knowledge of UK policy and parliamentary processes;
- Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills;
- Passion for news and/or politics and an understanding of their potential impact on business objectives;
- Excellent time management/project management;
- Strong networking skills with key media, stakeholder and prospective new business clients;
- Experience working for an MP would be an advantage.
