Hanover Communications, one of Europe’s leading corporate reputation and advocacy consultancies, is looking for a mid-level practitioner for their healthcare team.

We are looking for a Consultant with an understanding of and interest in healthcare PR and UK health policy. This full-time role is an important position in the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

  • Building demonstrably effective working relationships with MPs, Peers offices, national and specialist trade journalists;
  • Identifying reactive opportunities in the news agenda to secure coverage;
  • Drafting press releases, briefing notes and other materials;
  • Successfully selling in news stories to print and broadcast journalists;
  • Project managing events including press conferences, Parliamentary, stakeholder, media and new business events;
  • Providing reactive press office services;
  • Providing public affairs monitoring reports;
  • Drafting early day motions and parliamentary questions;
  • Contributing creatively towards new business pitches, attending brainstorms.

This role will support a number of prestigious clients in our healthcare team and is based in our London office in Gray’s Inn Road.

Person Specification:

We are looking for an outstanding individual with the following:

  • Excellent knowledge of the UK healthcare sector and health policy;
  • Good understanding of the UK media environment across print, broadcast and digital channels. Understanding of the European and broader international landscape an advantage;
  • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills;
  • Passion for news and/or politics and an understanding of their potential impact on business objectives;
  • Strong networking skills with key media, stakeholder and prospective new business clients.
