A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Director of EU Government Affairs.

You will:

  • Create a favorable external environment for the business by developing solutions-driven public policy positions and implementing targeted activities towards European policy-makers;
  • Work with LOCs to support and guide them on key areas of policy and advocacy;
  • Protect and enhancing the reputation of the organization and its products through proactive engagement with key external stakeholders;
  • Manage relationships with European institutions and organisations;
  • Track policy trends, spotting risks and opportunities, developing creative policies and advocacy programmes;
  • Establish win-win partnerships and collaborations with European bodies to support delivery of business objectives and build trust.

You will have:

  • Strong political grasp - graduate with extensive experience, preferably across disciplines (government affairs, issues management, policy development), with proven track record of leading development, implementation and measurement of effective Government Affairs strategies and programmes to support business objectives and build trust;
  • Understanding of the external environment and political decision-making processes. Skilled judgment on the positioning and tone of sensitive and complex issues is essential;
  • Experience of working within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry;
  • Ability to grasp and complex technical information and ‘translate’ it for non-expert audiences;
  • Proven track record of effective leadership of major projects, Strong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to build relationships of trust with a wide range of individuals and organisations;
  • Strategic and flexible thinking - ability to translate insights into sound analysis and advice to the business and creative policy proposals;
  • Building relationships across boundaries, with wide range of stakeholders outside the company;
  • Excellent business acumen and demonstrated sustained level of delivery of Government Affairs goals that support access for patients and commercial performance.
