The Free West Papua Campaign
The role:
- To work alongside exiled West Papuan leader, Benny Wenda, to play a leading role in developing and delivering the campaign for self determination;
- To build relationships with international parliamentarians, lawyers, NGOs and institutions such as the UN and representing the campaign at public events and private meetings in the UK and overseas;
- Spearheading urgent action campaigns, producing briefings, establishing media contacts and writing press releases.
The candidate:
- Demonstrable experience in carrying out advocacy with governments and institutions with an excellent grasp of the political landscape and experience in developing and implementing political strategies;
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills are essential alongside an ability to be culturally sensitive together wish experience of working with the media;
- A clear ability to establish priorities, meet multiple deadlines and work well under pressure and able to work by alone and under own initiative.
