This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual to work in tandem with the Director in Wales to help maintain our vision and develop further our work. You will have a sound understanding of the Welsh and UK political scenes and the policies and legislation affecting people affected by stroke in Wales.

Working collaboratively with stroke survivors and their carers, you will be a determined and experienced leader, ambassador and skilled negotiator to champion and develop our cause.

This key role includes managing the external policy and influencing strategy for the charity in Wales, with responsibility to liaise with AMs, ministers and civil servants at the National Assembly and the Welsh Government. You will also advise staff based in Wales and other UK colleagues with whom you will collaborate in the formulation and implementation of our campaigns. You will be expected to contribute to our community development programme.

You must be an excellent bilingual communicator with a high degree of initiative, analytical skills and the ability to meet deadlines. The ability to communicate in Welsh is essential to this role.

Your experience with media interviews and public speaking will help in the development of the Association’s presence in Wales and a vision of what this may bring.

Travel to meetings around the UK and occasional overnight stays are a requirement of this post.
