The BMA represents over 150,000 UK or UK-based doctor and medical students, supporting them individually and collectively to achieve the best possible health and health care. As well as helping to shape health policy and practice, and providing individual employment advice and support and wider information and guidance for the profession, the BMA has sole negotiating rights on terms and conditions for doctors working in the NHS.

Financial pressures, new technology and the ageing population are driving massive shifts in the delivery of health care and changing doctors` working lives. The BMA is changing too, to respond to these challenges locally and nationally in a way that is good for patients and fair for doctors, promoting medical professional values and enabling them to flourish.

The BMA is currently undertaking a major, organisation-wide transformation programme to ensure the organisation`s relevance and influence for the future. We are looking for an experienced Head of Internal Communications to play a key role in delivering this change and leading staff engagement and communication across the organisation.
