Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Citizens Advice provides free, independent and impartial advice and information to help people resolve their legal, money and other problems. In the past year they have helped over 2.5 million people solve over 6.2 million problems. Their national network delivers services from over 3,000 locations in England and Wales. In 2015 they won Charity Times Charity of the Year for their work. Now they want to do even more.

The role

As Head of Market Engagement you will lead their Market development activities in line with organisational priorities ensuring there is a full understanding of the key markets they operate in, including funding flows, competition, and political environment.

You will also seek out and manage the development of existing and new business opportunities, ensuring they develop those areas that make the most difference to their clients and service, and have organisational fit to their strategies. Alongside this you will lead the partnership management function for the business, including developing relationships with key external and internal contacts, targeting those that they can best influence and work with to develop, design and test new opportunities for the service.

The person

To be successful in this role you will have a sound understanding of the local and political environment, and a proven track record of building strong, positive relationships both externally and internally. You will be a highly skilled communicator, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences across a range of markets.

You will have the ability to lead and motivate a team to seek out new business opportunities. You will also manage existing business, and ensure that they are developing in areas that make the most difference to the lives of their clients.
