A fantastic opprotunity has arisen for a Head of Policy and Research with a regulator in London. You will:

  • Provide leadership on regulatory policy, research and management across the organisation, to ensure the organisation can demonstrate good practice as a regulator;
  • Develop the overall strategic planning and management of the organisation’s approach to the collection of evidence to influence the future direction and planning of the organisation’s work and has a wide impact on policy and practice;
  • Lead the management of programmes to review or amend the organisation’s regulatory arrangements, including the organisation’s Handbook and associated rules and guidance, to ensure that regulatory arrangements are up to date and fit for purpose;
  • Plan and manages appropriate expert and stakeholder input into policy programmes, commissioning research where necessary;
  • Lead and manage of the organisation’s policy and research staff, including some 8 staff and direct line management of the Research Manager, Senior Policy Officer and Policy Manager.

You will have:

  • Demonstrable experience of managing complex policy development in a regulatory or similar environment;
  • Well-developed strategic thinking and analytical skills including the ability to source and interpret complex data;
  • Significant experience in leadership and line/performance management;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of drafting a range of materials for a variety of audiences including consultation;
  • papers, reports, board and committee papers, briefings and articles.
