About the role
This role will play a strategic leadership role in the Society’s aspiration to improve the lives of people living with and affected by dementia as set out in its New Deal on Dementia five-year strategy. It will be at the forefront, strategically leading a team to deliver a first class and dynamic public affairs and campaigns function.
This role will ensure we champion and maintain the prominent position of dementia on the public and political agenda across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
This role will ensure effective engagement with; people affected by dementia, national and local government, policy makers and opinion formers, as well as the wider society in a social movement for change.
About you
You will have significant experience of developing and leading effective influencing strategies in a senior role for a large and complex organisation, whilst managing a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed.
You will have knowledge of the political, health and social care landscape and empathy for the rights and aspirations of people living with dementia and those who care for them.
You will have experience designing, leading and executing successful public facing campaigns, on and offline, which recruit and retain supporters.
