Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity.  We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. We influence policy makers, to work with us to ensure society fully maximises the benefits and opportunities our woods and trees provide us in the 21st century.

THE ROLE

Supporting the Head of Government Affairs and the Northern Ireland Director, the Lead Government Affairs Officer will have a central role in planning and delivering the Trust’s lobbying and will use this to build relationships with, and influence, key decision makers

This role will work to Increase the Trust’s influence amongst decision makers in Westminster, Whitehall, the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont, relevant departments of the Northern Ireland Civil Service, their Agencies and local authorities in the province. 

THE CANDIDATE

With a strong background in public affairs, you’ll have knowledge of and commitment to the Trust’s aims alongside a strong understanding of political processes. You’ll be experienced in influencing policy and building strategic relationships with national decision-makers and policy influencers. You’ll have the ability to motivate others and an existing knowledge of Northern Ireland’s politics would be beneficial.
