Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

We are seeking to recruit a Media and Communications Manager (maternity cover) to play a lead role in running our press office and managing our relationships with external organisations, including parliamentarians and stakeholder groups.

Working closely with the Director of Communications and other senior colleagues at the Nuffield Trust, along with members of the organisation’s communications team, the postholder will provide cover for the duration of the Assistant Director of Communications’ maternity leave through devising and executing communications strategies for many of our highest profile projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior colleagues across the organisation to ensure the Nuffield Trust responds effectively to developments in health policy through press statements, parliamentary briefings and advising on the content of timely blogs and articles.

We are looking for candidates with experience of managing a busy press office and overseeing the communications elements of complex policy and/or research projects. The role is a fixed term maternity cover post for five days a week. However, consideration will be given to applicants who may be able to take on the role on a part-time basis or on a freelance basis for a minimum of six months.
