Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

The International Chamber of Commerce UK is the voice of international business in the UK. We work - both domestically and internationally - to champion the importance of open markets, sensible regulation and business-led growth. We also produce a number of rules and standards which facilitate cross-border commerce and promote responsible business conduct.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our policy team to support the development of our advocacy and rules-writing work across a broad spectrum of issues.

The role

  • monitoring of policy/parliamentary activity (UK, EU and UN/WTO);
  • development of briefings and updates for members companies;
  • managing relationships with both member companies and government officials;
  • drafting of consultation responses and representations to government;
  • management and administration of policy committee meetings;
  • organisation of events on key policy issues. 

Who we're looking for

We are looking for someone with a background in policy making or public affairs. This is an important role which carries a large amount of responsibility. Ideally we’d like someone with:

  • an understanding of UK, EU and multilateral policy making;
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • strong stakeholder management skills;
  • experience of managing or supporting multiple projects with excellent organisational skills;
  • experience of event organisation is desirable;
  • an understanding (or prior experience) of one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: trade policy; financial regulation; corporate responsibility; and the digital economy.
