ECA is the representative body of European professional pilots at European Union (EU) level, striving for the highest level of aviation safety and fostering social rights and quality employment for pilots in Europe. We are looking to expand our Brussels office by recruiting a Policy Advisor.

Job details:

  • To support, advise and proactively drive ECA’s advocacy and organisational efforts on industrial, external relations and technical (safety/security) issues;
  • Represent ECA and be in regular contact with EU decision-makers, international bodies, and stakeholders, research institutes, etc.;
  • Manage ECA working group(s) and ECA attendance at external meetings/events;
  • Work closely within the existing team, incl. the ECA Professional Affairs Board Directors and Member Associations, and reporting to ECA Secretary General.

Your profile:

  • University degree in a relevant subject (e.g. political/social sciences, economics, law), or equivalent professional experience;
  • Proven relevant professional experience in aviation (safety/security/air transport liberalization), social and/or labour issues gained at national or EU level, within private/aviation stakeholder or social partner organisations or within public/EU institutions;
  • Good practical understanding of EU decision-making. Previous experience in working with governmental bodies and policy-makers is a distinct plus;
  • Strong diplomat and networker with proven written/oral communication skills; self-starter and team player with an analytical mind and an eye both for detail and the broader picture;
  • Fluent in English (spoken & written) and ideally French, with a 3rd EU language a bonus.

The position is a permanent position. Remuneration package competitive, commensurate with experience. The job will be Brussels based, but availability for regular travelling abroad is a must.
