The Royal College of Psychiatrists is the leading medical authority on mental health in the United Kingdom and is the professional and educational organisation for doctors specialising in psychiatry. The College plays a central role in establishing and promoting the highest standards of psychiatric care and training in the United Kingdom.

This is an important role in the College’s Policy Unit, within its new Strategic Communications Department. The successful candidate will have a good postgraduate degree in social sciences, health sciences, economics or a related discipline and a good knowledge of mental health policy.

Working closely with the Head of Policy Unit, Policy Research Fellow and College Officers and Members, their principal focus will be further developing and actively supporting the College’s work relating to the recommendations of the recently published Five Year Forward View for Mental Health. An experienced policy analyst, they will have substantial experience of developing well-evidenced public policy positions, complemented by excellent writing and communication skills and an ability to work well with others.
