Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to work with a leading charity who are looking for someone to join the team and develop powerful campaigns around high-profile policy issues while addressing key issues for vulnerable people.

With the General Election in 2015, the successful candidate will enjoy a great opportunity to develop their policy and campaigning experience during a busy political period. The campaigns will influence change and bring improved outcomes for those in need.

Coming from a public affairs or policy background, the candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner. This role requires a confident individual happy to work in a creative team.

Maternity Cover (12 months with possible extension)

The role will include:

  • Keeping up with developments in public policy and drafting clear and concise policy briefings for both internal and external audiences;
  • Identifying and developing any campaign strategies including research, monitoring, policy development and political lobbying;
  • Managing relationships both internally and externally;
  • Identifying new partnerships and managing existing relationships;
  • Supporting overall involvement in local, regional and national forums;
  • Representing the organisation and communicating the strategies to stakeholders.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven track record of working within Policy or Public Affairs;
  • Excellent understanding of UK campaigning environment;
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
