An excellent opportunity has arisen to work with a leading charity who are looking for someone to join the team and develop powerful campaigns around high-profile policy issues while addressing key issues for vulnerable people.
With the General Election in 2015, the successful candidate will enjoy a great opportunity to develop their policy and campaigning experience during a busy political period. The campaigns will influence change and bring improved outcomes for those in need.
Coming from a public affairs or policy background, the candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner. This role requires a confident individual happy to work in a creative team.
Maternity Cover (12 months with possible extension)
The role will include:
- Keeping up with developments in public policy and drafting clear and concise policy briefings for both internal and external audiences;
- Identifying and developing any campaign strategies including research, monitoring, policy development and political lobbying;
- Managing relationships both internally and externally;
- Identifying new partnerships and managing existing relationships;
- Supporting overall involvement in local, regional and national forums;
- Representing the organisation and communicating the strategies to stakeholders.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proven track record of working within Policy or Public Affairs;
- Excellent understanding of UK campaigning environment;
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
