Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

We are seeking a Policy and Public Affairs Assistant to assist with policy and public affairs work in order to help St Mungo’s Broadway organisation raise its profile, credibility and influence among political stakeholders. This is an exciting period to join the Policy, Public Affairs and Research team when we are working with the new government to influence key agendas.

The role will involve:

  • Working with St Mungo’s Broadway clients and other colleagues on policy-related research;
  • Assisting with a programme of parliamentary visits, events and meetings to ensure that St Mungo’s Broadway has a high profile in Westminster and Whitehall;
  • Assisting with Parliamentary activity in support of St Mungo’s Broadway key policy and campaign objectives;
  • Helping to ensure relevant internal contacts are kept informed of political and policy developments through regular monitoring reports;
  • Helping to monitor and evaluate policy and public affairs activities in line with key performance indicators and our influencing strategy.

As Policy and Public Affairs Assistant, you will need to have good communication skills and knowledge of government and Parliament. You will also have some previous experience of working in a busy team either in a charity or not-for-profit organisation, or in a policy or public affairs environment. The ability to quickly pick things up and work with a variety of audiences; including MPs, campaigners, clients and colleagues at all levels will be a crucial part of the role.
