Job Description:

Our client is looking to recruit a Policy and Public Affairs Executive (Parliamentary) to contribute to the creation, and manage the delivery, of strategies to:

  • Advance the interests of the organisation, locally and nationally, through high quality public affairs activity (including consultation responses, campaign planning, events delivery and local capacity building);
  • Engage and secure the support of individual stakeholders and/or organisations who can substantially further strategic objectives, with a particular focus on political stakeholders;
  • Develop relevant and credible policy positions that further the interests of the organisation and is informed by colleagues, volunteers and young people, most likely within a parliamentary, local authority or legislative context.

Essential skills:

  • Proven experience in Public Affairs/Governmental/Policy environment;
  • Experience of developing and delivering high impact influencing strategies/campaigns;
  • Experience of briefings, parliamentary monitoring, speeches and so on;
  • Experience of policy development (including research, consultation and development of proposals);
  • Experience of basic events management (for example party conference attendance, receptions/launches, APPG meetings etc.);
  • Experience of working with parliamentarians and governmental bodies, third and youth sector organisations or potential funders;
  • Highly developed networking and influencing skills.
