Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

As the nation’s leading youth volunteering charity, vInspired is an incredibly rewarding place to work and we are looking for a creative, influential and articulate Policy & Public Affairs Manager to join our team and help shape the next exciting period in our history. 

Here at vInspired, we are inspired by the belief that when young people are trusted to take responsibility their creativity, energy and optimism can change the world. Reporting to the Head of Impact and Learning, and working directly alongside the CEO, you will take the lead on reviewing, delivering and evaluating vInspired’s policy strategy and public affairs activities to raise the profile and quality of our work with young people to external stakeholders.

Working on the development of research and clear and cohesive policy literature, you’ll provide expert and timely advice to colleagues and ensure the effective co-ordination of the charity’s input into Government, political and voluntary sector policy forums and consultations. You will also be expected to write engaging and impactful policy reports and briefing papers.

Taking a lead on both developing and delivering a series of events and on stakeholder mapping and management, you will engage and develop excellent external relationships with not only political and Government but also wider stakeholders.

To secure this pivotal role as our Policy & Public Affairs Manager, it is vital that you can demonstrate:

  • A proven background in a public affairs or policy capacity;
  • Experience of policy development and working with external stakeholders at a senior level;
  • A sound understanding of how to use evidence from a range of sources to analyse policy challenges and develop solutions that respond to proven need;
  • Experience of developing strategies in support of achieving organisational goals;
  • Outstanding organisational, IT and communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • The ability to build and sustain strong and diverse networks among policy experts, practitioners and researchers;
  • A solid understanding of the workings of Government and the Parliamentary process.
