This is a newly created post in our National Service Department designed to help Young Epilepsy establish and further increase the impact of our public affairs and policy work throughout the UK. These are relatively new functions within the organisation and so we want to continue the momentum of our early success.

Building on this we now wish to take a strategic and coordinated approach to our policy and public affairs work to ensure the success of our campaigns and policy work to maximise our influence. You will work closely with the Head of National Services and Public Affairs and other senior staff within the organisation, to enable Young Epilepsy to influence key stakeholders to achieve our objectives.

The role will represent Young Epilepsy through engaging with a network of national, external stakeholders to promote key messages and campaign topics, and position the organisation as a national centre of excellence and the voice of childhood epilepsy. You will take the lead in the development of our public affairs work and raising the profile of the organisation in this area.

The role will take responsibility for advising on all matters relating to the external environment in which the national programmes are operating, including legislative and policy changes and advising where practice needs to be reviewed and developed. In addition, you will be responsible for overseeing our policy work, ensuring it is of high quality and has maximum impact.
