About the role

In this brand new role, you will be responsible for establishing Glandŵr Cymru (the Canal & River Trust in Wales) as a valued waterway and well-being charity, and as an equally valued strategic and delivery partner. In particular, this will involve gaining political and policy support from key bodies and decision-makers in Wales.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced policy and public affairs professional with a track record of building strategic relationships, influencing public policy and acting as a political advocate. As well as being a strong negotiator, influencer and communicator, you must have sound knowledge of the political system in Wales and key policy issues. A degree or equivalent in public policy, politics or a related subject is also essential.

About us

One of the UK’s biggest charities, we maintain 2,000 miles of historic canals, rivers, docks and reservoirs, along with museums, archives and the country’s third largest collection of protected historic buildings – preserving them for future generations. We believe living waterways transform places and enrich lives. Achieving this vision will be a fascinating challenge. Come and be part of it.
