We have an exciting opportunity for a policy and public affairs officer to play a key role in helping to shape Red Cross policy positions and develop our public affairs strategy across Northern Ireland.

As policy and public affairs officer, you will help increase our ability to help the most vulnerable by influencing public policy and government and key stakeholders, furthering the objectives set out in the Red Cross corporate strategy.

You will be integral to initiating and sustaining excellent working relationships with elected representatives, officials and policy/public affairs staff in other organisations. You will monitor and report on relevant developments in the Northern Ireland Executive and Assembly and position our work and concerns effectively with officials and elected representatives and influence the development of public policy and/or legislation that has an impact on the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in or with an assembly/parliament or experience of policy or public affairs work in a consultancy or voluntary sector organisation.

Good working knowledge of the Northern Ireland Executive and/or Assembly is also key to the role as is experience of policy research or analysis related to the work of the Red Cross.

If you have a flair for developing and maintaining relationships and can work diplomatically and professionally within a public/social policy environment then we would love to hear from you.
