Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Join the Network

A newly created role to develop and deliver a proactive policy communications strategy aimed at raising our client's visibility and supporting the organisation’s position as a centre of knowledge and expertise in the education sector. The role will identify and provide support for education policy initiatives, focusing on our client's key areas of expertise and with particular focus on generating content.

You will:

  • Develop and deliver public response and profile relating to policy developments;
  • Contribute to our client's visibility and impact objectives through timely content creation for all communications channels;
  • Provide timely and appropriate internal briefings to support key staff and Senior Management Team;
  • Develop relationships with key external stakeholders (think tanks, media, government comms teams, Special Advisers) with a view to identifying future visibility and impact opportunities;
  • Attend relevant policy related events and report back on insights. Where relevant and required, represent our client at roundtables and other events, and carry out speaking engagements;
  • Write regular, concise and relevant policy updates targeted at our school audience;
  • Develop new policy communications strategy and comprehensive tactical plan with associated budget costs.

Essential skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of government policy;
  • Excellent communications skills;
  • Strong writing style. The ability to write accurately and for a variety of audiences;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Confident using social media for business;
  • Ability to assimilate, understand and re-present large amounts of content quickly;
  • Strong presentation skills. A confident presenter.
