The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

I am currently recruiting for a Policy Lead (payment systems) with the UK’s financial regulator. You will:

  • Take a leading role in the development of policy proposals and regulatory solutions to policy issues across a range of issues related to payment services;
  • Providing wide knowledge and expertise of the payments industry (including banking, mobile, internet, card and other payments) in the context of the relevant regulatory and legal framework. This extends to newly regulated payment services and "Open Banking" services;
  • Providing a leadership role within the team by supporting colleagues to help them deliver effectively;
  • Horizon scanning keeping in touch with internal and external developments to ensure new or emerging issues are picked up;
  • Stakeholder management engaging effectively and regularly with internal and external stakeholders.

You will have:

  • Extensive policy making experience in relation to payment services;
  • Experience of leading significant projects;
  • Ability to assess and analyse complex policy issues, making sound judgements/decisions with confidence on limited information;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to:
    • Distil complex issues into succinct messages;
    • Draft reports to a high standard in short deadlines; and;
    • Credibly present to a variety of senior internal and external stakeholders.
