I am currently recruiting for a Policy Lead (payment systems) with the UK’s financial regulator. You will:
- Take a leading role in the development of policy proposals and regulatory solutions to policy issues across a range of issues related to payment services;
- Providing wide knowledge and expertise of the payments industry (including banking, mobile, internet, card and other payments) in the context of the relevant regulatory and legal framework. This extends to newly regulated payment services and "Open Banking" services;
- Providing a leadership role within the team by supporting colleagues to help them deliver effectively;
- Horizon scanning keeping in touch with internal and external developments to ensure new or emerging issues are picked up;
- Stakeholder management engaging effectively and regularly with internal and external stakeholders.
You will have:
- Extensive policy making experience in relation to payment services;
- Experience of leading significant projects;
- Ability to assess and analyse complex policy issues, making sound judgements/decisions with confidence on limited information;

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to:
- Distil complex issues into succinct messages;
- Draft reports to a high standard in short deadlines; and;
- Credibly present to a variety of senior internal and external stakeholders.
