A 12-month fixed term contract has arisen for a Policy Manager with a regulator. 

You will:

  • Acquire and apply policy expertise in a range of agreed regulation policy areas to contribute to the organisations regulatory policy development;
  • Identify risks in the external environment which require policy consideration;
  • Lead, manage or support thematic or cross-cutting project teams, or Task and Finish Groups, based on the organisation’s agreed policies and protocols;
  • Lead or contribute to work that enables effective intelligence-gathering and evidence-building for regulation policy development;
  • Collaboratively develop, review and draft regulation policies and guidance which deliver the organisation’s Annual Policy Development Plan;
  • Develop and implement project plans for complex regulation policy development projects, where appropriate;
  • Build and develop relationships with stakeholders in accordance with agreed work areas.

You will have:

  • Experience of policy development in a complex environment;
  • The ability to work collaboratively to develop evidence-based policy to support the achievement of organisational objectives;
  • Experience of working with others to understand the potential impact and implications of emerging strategy and policy and to develop risk-mitigation strategies where necessary;
  • Ability to understand complex information and communicate this in an accessible way to a range of audiences;
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
